How Home Staging Boosts Rental Properties Too!

September 20, 2019

As an investor sometimes you will dive into owning a lot of developmental properties and renting them out to ensure a “passive income stream” that may have you worrying a lot about that investment, especially if your relying on it to offset your mortgage costs.

Has it ever come across your mind to hire a professional home stager to enhance the appeal of the rental properties?

When your prior tenants move out, that vacant property looks very sad to potential tenants. If you’ve never hired a home stager before you’d be surprised what the difference home staging can make in the length of time a unit remains vacant.

I was contacted to stage an apartment that stayed dormant on the market for a month. The tenant before slightly tarnished the apartment making it unappealing to release to a new tenant. I was contacted by the owner to help bring a vision back to life for the oddly shaped apartment so that it may appeal to new tenants. After it was staged the next five people that looked at it wanted to rent it! That landlord went from having no interests for the unit to having five choices within a few weeks of having it staged.

Prospective tenants will fall in love with a tastefully decorated home much more quickly than they would a vacant one. You’ll also increase your perceived value of the rental and may attract a higher quality tenant.

If you are trying to rent it furnished then the staging will benefit even more when a prospective tenant knows they can just move right in.

Understanding the importance of home staging is not just for the “home going to market” scenario. You can make profit on your properties from utilizing the services of a home stager , no matter what role you play in the real estate market!
